Office Overview

Welcome to the County Clerk's Office!  The County Clerk is the record keeper of the County, from committee minutes to contracts, resolutions and ordinances.  The County Clerk is tasked with staffing all County Board meetings and taking official minutes and proceedings.  The Office prepares and posts meeting agendas, publishes meeting minutes, and maintains committee records.  The Office is the official custodian of County documents and produces the Official County Directory. 

The Lafayette County Clerk is charged with administering and coordinating elections with all 28 local municipalities.  They are also tasked with verifying voter registration and assisting voters as necessary. The County Clerk's Office is the place to stop if you are applying for a marriage license, looking for a child labor work permit, or completing a timber cutting permit.  The Office also sells the County Plat Book.
