Our Mission:

To be a leader in Information Technology and to maintain and support information systems in Lafayette County in a timely, cost effective manner.

Lafayette County currently operates a Microsoft Windows network, which supports approximately 255 workstations, laptops, IOS devices and multiple servers.  County network systems also include an AS400 and numerous SQL databases.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Purchasing all technology hardware, software, etc.
  • Network design, implementation and troubleshooting
  • Installation and maintenance of county servers, workstation computers, printers and other peripherals
  • County-wide law enforcement system support and maintenance
  • Setup and support of the Exchange email system, Internet web services, firewall security, anti-virus system, department-specific application programs, and business system analysis
  • The network supports 10/100 Ethernet cat 5E
  • The Information Technology staff is responsible for supporting the Courthouse; Sheriff's Office; UW Extension; Human Services; Public Health; Manor, Land Conservation, Planning and Zoning; and Highway Department.
