GIS / IT Committee

Committee Description

The GIS/IT committee is responsible for the oversight and advancement of countywide information technology and geographic information systems.  The Committee promotes the use of technology to create efficiencies in government and to improve communications throughout the County as well as with the general public.

The GIS/IT Committee reviews significant technology investments and expenditures and makes recommendations to the County Board. Furthermore, the committee reviews proposed internal policies regarding the use of technology throughout the County.

Meeting Schedule

This committee meets monthly (typically the third Tuesday of the month).  The time and date of the next scheduled monthly meeting of this committee is posted at the City of Darlington Municipal Building, Lafayette County Courthouse, Memorial Hospital, Lafayette Manor, Highway Department, Land Conservation, Human Services, Health Department, The Lafayette County Website and sent to the Republican Journal.  Anyone interested is encouraged to attend.  A copy of the meeting agenda or previous minutes can be obtained on this website.
