Welcome!
Lafayette County offers multiple miles of ATV/UTV trails meandering through southwestern Wisconsin. Included are the Cheese Country Trail with 47.5 miles from Monroe to Mineral Point, the Pecatonica State Trail with 10 miles from Calamine to Belmont and the Fayette Trail with 3.5 miles between Furnace Hill Road and Fayette Cemetery Road. For information on the trails in Lafayette County, contact the Tri-County ATV Club at 608-482-1331.
The Cheese Country Trail and Pecatonica State Trail are open to all-terrain vehicles (ATVs/UTVs), off-road dirt bikes, motorcycles, horses, bicycles, and hikers. Non-motorized users should be aware that the trail is heavily used by ATVs/UTVs, and that the trail surface can be extremely rough in some areas making biking difficult. In addition, all users are urged to be cautious and courteous of the many trail-users traveling at different speeds along this scenic view of southwestern Wisconsin.
The Fayette Trail is open to ATV/UTV use only from May 1st to October 1st annually, but may be closed periodically due to poor trail conditions or when adjacent farming operations warrant closure.
Stay awhile!
Lodging options range from campgrounds, to motels, to RV parks. Many offer easy accessibility directly to the trail.
