Soil & Water Conservation

Financial and technical assistance is available to landowners to install soil and water conservation practices. Conservation practices are focused on addressing resource concerns  in order to reduce soil erosion, protect water quality and conserve the natural resources of Lafayette County.

Landowners interested in applying for cost share to install conservation practices on their land should submit an application into our office. Applications are brought forth to the Land Conservation Committee for approval. Various factors determine priority such as practice cost, areas of priority and overall benefit from practice installation. Approved projects can receive up to 70% cost-share to install conservation practices.
